crasha51pan, Don't you no never mind bout feeling like a"bad ol lady that won't go away". I speak for myself. But I feel confident that all others feel the same. It is always good to here from ya, Bro. Like we say here in the Lone Star State, don't be no stranger. It would have been more appropriate for the big guy at the Harley dealer to ask what century you where from. Being as H.D. has not made the Pan Head since the mid 20th century. Or, put a kick starter on one of their bikes since the late 20th century!

My intent was to "just fade away", but this is the best PanHead site I have found. I have a PanHead Passion, and this site has some awsome pic's. Can't help myself, I will check in from time to time. Keep'em rollin !

Hey, it's Memorial Day weekend, go out and ride ! (Take a moment and remember what this weekend is all about. Then go PARTY !!!)

Hi crash

Had not logged in in my previous post.

I missed writing part of my post:

I found the bike in a shed in the garden of a XVII century house.

It is a 1947 panhead, rigid with springer forks.

It had the original engine and trans but the engine was taken appart and left to rot in the trunk of a Volkswagen - the cases and crank are usable but I will have to sort out all the rest (cam, timing gears, distrib, lifters, rods, pistons, cylinders, heads etc.) It is a good challenge...

Hope to ride till the end of the year.

Hoping will not get me there though...

Been a good while since I was here. First, let me say that I hope you all have remained safe and kept the wheels turnin ! Gettin near "snow" here in Montana. I am still tryin to pull a rabbit out of my hat in regards to gettin another scooter, my biggest problem is "TIME". It seems to be movin too fast.

Now, for the reason of "one more post"...........

Thru this journey, I have mentioned my son a number of times. Received a call a month ago and he informed me that he reenlisted for another 6 years. Not real surprised, he had 8 years in already. Still, I am very proud of him.
I posted some pic's of him around my bikes since he was a baby. I will post them once again (bare with me) just to get to my end point.

It started very young:

Both kids knew this thing was special to dad..

Sometimes I think he was just tryin to figure it out.

Can I dad ?

Then he joined the Navy and went to war.

Now, they warned him on what to look out for on his return to the U.S. One sign, "if he got the urge to buy a motorcycle" !! That was a danger sign...

Here it is brothers. Received this the other day. I made the comment to the wife, "it seems that I have gone full circle now". She said to me (with a bit of neverousness in her voice because she had been through this with me. She knows how fast things can happen and how dangerous it can be. Still, she understood), "the nut doesn't fall far from the tree (I thought it was "apple", oh well).
At any rate, MY HEART WAS SOARING ! A brand new 2009 Softail.
Ride boy, ride !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgot to mention, he has already removed the tank emblem (wants an older style) and the passenger seat.
