Timing plug removal

Is the timing plug any easier to remove with a warm motor vs cold?

I'll note here that going from .020 to .018 point gap moved the advance line in the timing hole from peeking at right edge, to just right of center, using a strobe.

And why would you diminish the points gap? Doing so changes the dwell time and affects the coil saturation. The factory designated the gap for a reason!

To help understand how it would affect the timing. So many posts on folks claiming different point gaps, i decicded to experiment a bit. i see now how someone with mistimed motor could percieve better perfomance by setting nonstandard gap.
