I'm running a the same pre filter on my 37u. I cleaned it yesterday after 200 miles on a rebuild. Had some junk stuck to the magnet and some small particles in the filter. I cleaned it and reinstalled. Seems to be a good addition so far....today I put another 200 miles on it and will clean it again at my first oil change. My thinking is it's better than nothing....im also running it in the return line

Why not a real filter in the return line?
