USN knuckle
I wonder if this picture was created for artistic purposes. It doesn't look like a U model can't really tell by the picture.

It's not a U, if it was the air cleaner would be showing. I think there were war time Knuckleheads.

The bike with side car may be OK, but I doubt this is a period photograph:
Tells:
The jack's stars are obscured. If period there would be 48 showing, so I believe they have been obscured.
The riders clothing is not WW2 appropriate. The trousers are too well fitting, the waist belt and boots are not regulation.
and finally, the quality of this color picture is way above what was typical of that time period.
However this is a great image, it's just a resent production. In my opinion as a trader in militaria for over 20 years.....
