vent pipe to primary

Can a '58 motor use a chain oiler/vent pipe found on earlier big twins, or does the oiling system differ so that it wouldn't work properly?

Nothing wrong with the '58-'64 type oiler but is you prefer the early one will work with the correct hole location in the inner primary. The oiling system relating to the breather functions the same from '36-'64.

Thanks, Rubone. I was just thinking that it might be easier to find an older vent pipe. Been looking online for the '58 and up assembly, but haven't had any luck as of yet.

Reverting from a primary belt to chain on 58 FLH, I need to purchase a breather/chain oiler and noticed Colony make the:

later type 58-63 Colony#3113-5
earlier type 48-57 Colony#2989-3

It would appear that they changed again in 64 which resembled a bit of both above.
Should I stick with the period correct later type or was the earlier type a better design?
Which fits & works better?
