Hello,
I have a M51 Linkert which I installed on my rebuilt 45” (not running yet)
Is there anything I should know about this carb, or just set up as normal. I’m now thinking it’s too much carb for a G model 45”.
Second question, my seat saddle post is too “springy”
Which nut adjustment takes the softness out of the saddle?
Thanks!
Mike K

Re: Linkert carb, and Saddle post spring tension
All solo civilian 45s came with an M-51 in the '40s-'50s. A G engine is the same except for using the lowest standard compression ratio and the small intake manifold and carb. If the manifold is changed to the standard type the carb will be fine (it will work with the smaller one with an adapter but any gain is basically negated). Does it have the 1-1/16 venturi in it? That is standard for both WL and UL.panzer45 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 4:16 pm Hello,

Look in the documentation section for the service manuals. They explain the seat springs and normal adjustments for all models.
