So, Robbie, what's gonna happen to your marvelous collection after you croak, or will you plan an selling it off before then. That's what I'm facing. My charming bride has no idea what my Harley parts, nor military collectibles, and tools are worth....

Wow! Whenever I see a post about even the possibility of one of you old duffers selling off your stuff I can feel my heart start to race.RooDog wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 1:04 pm So, Robbie, what's gonna happen to your marvelous collection after you croak, or will you plan an selling it off before then. Then I remember that I'm an old duffer myself and there's no point in getting exited. Probably just atrial fibrillation anyway...

The best you can hope for is somebody will appreciate used parts and sell them to people who will use them on bikes to go back on the road.
I try to sell my stuff at swap meets cheap enough to folks who will use them, but too expensive for E- bay guys to make another profit. After all, swap meets are one of the few places brotherhood remains!

Re: knucklehead project
I went into the hospital last November and almost died there I ended spending 26 days in three different facilities plus a rehab. Started with a bad tooth and went downhill from there. I won't bore you with the details, but when the worst was over and they brought me out of a medically induced coma I was finally able to talk with my wife. One of the things we talked about is what to do with my four bikes and all my parts and tools if I didn't make it. We couldn't come up with an answer! We have no offspring, and while I have friends who ride, none of them have the knowledge and skills to keep them on the road. So I'm back in very good health, but the open issue remains. I would donate the stuff to strangers if I was sure it would be used and appreciated.Andygears wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 2:11 am The best you can hope for is somebody will appreciate used parts and sell them to people who will use them on bikes to go back on the road.
