WL45 Oil leak

#1

Post by Hd63dude »

Hi, I have a fresh build WL45, everything has had a once over and replaced/refurbished as required. Having done under 10 miles I seem to have oil leaking from the slotted breather pipe timing side while running only, any one have any reasons why and a fix.
Thanks.

The most common reasons are a bad flapper valve in the cam cover, wrong slinger on the generator, or sumping. And any combination of the above.

IF the scavanger is timed and working properly...sumping shouldn't and couldn't be a problem...
I do suspect a bad fluttervalve as Robbie mentioned..

The engine could sump if oil is leaking around the feed pump check valves or if the feed pump rotor clearance is too big.

Good point since most aftermarket gaskets are way too thick.
