I bought a new replacement centrifugal type oil feed pump for my 1948 UL. The book says the setting of the pressure relief valve should be to set the screw 3/8 down from the top of the pump body. Right now it sits at 0.246
My Question is can I trust this new pump shape and internals and simply set the screw down to 3/8 ? or should I experiment with a gauge?

Re: Feed oil pump pressure relief valve adjustment
I bought a new centrifugal feed pump (VTwin) for my '45 UL and the oil just poured through it. It turned out that relief valve seat wasn't machined correctly, such that with the check ball in place, you could see light around the ball. I wound up using a somewhat crusty OE feed pump. Once the valve seats were lapped, the OE pump works great.Eb74UL wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 3:31 am I bought a new replacement centrifugal type oil feed pump for my 1948 UL.
