Measurements

Post by 47str8leg »

Looking to see if anyone can measure their frame and let me know if this toolbox mount is in the right place .
Just tacked on. Rather have an actual measurement off a frame than a blueprint. Doesn’t have to be from where I did it in the picture. Any reference point will do.

I don’t have a measurement because I mounted mine slightly wrong. In hindsight I would mount my rear fender first if it has the third hole. Then using that hole and the correct spacer, bolt up the toolbox to the frame mount and swing it into position, clamp & tack. Along with mounting in the right spot along the frame rail, the bracket must radially be correct, around the frame rail so the correct spacer will fill the gap between the toolbox and fender. A small bit off and the spacer is the wrong thickness and the holes don’t line up. Just a consideration.

Unfortunately I’m not using the stock rear fender.
I’m using a knuckle front on the rear.
Just wanted all the stock brackets on the frame.

Look in the knowledge base. It was discussed several times, once in particular on Biginchers '52 frame.

Yes.
That would be wise. So wise I might add that as I searched through I found that I had already answered that question in a previous post !
I knew at one time somewhere that I had the answer but I didn’t know it was here !
Therefore I can thank my past self for this pertinent information !!!
What were the chances..
