Longshot C&L cycles in Phoenix
List,
I realize this is a long shot question but the coolest Pan I ever saw was in a bike shop called C&L (I think) in Phoenix. It was in the front window and was kind of a pea green original paint crusty masterpiece. I didn't know enough about Pans back then (mid 90's) to know what year it was but I was hoping maybe someone on the list knew something about it. The bikeshop is long gone but I am sure the Pan is still around. I would love a picture of it or at least to know what year it was (I will guess it was a 53).
Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
Were the oil tank and primary painted to match? H-d had a special color combo in '55 that was a sort of pea green, Hollywood Green, that was a one year option. It was the only year the other tin was painted to match.

Hi Robbie.
I was definitely not a 55. Hollywood green is more like a mint green. This bike was a metallic green but not bright and flashy. It had cheese grater fender trim. I am about 80% sure it was a 51-53.
Guesses include
1951 in metallic green
Not 1952 tropical green, that was real bright
1953 Forest or Glamour green (I don't know what these colors look like)
1954 Forest green
1949 Metallic congo green
1950 Metallic green
So without actually knowing what metallic green looks like, I would guess 1950 or 1951 metallic green.

Thanks guys,
A little hard to correlate memory with the color chart but I will go with Flambouyant Green which would make the bike a 53.

A few decades of Arizona sun would probably make any of them "pea green".

Way old post I know but I just came across it. I found my answer on the CAIMAG forum a few years ago and even corresponded with the owner
The bike was an original paint 1953 in Glamour Green
