58-62 Aluminum O ring manifold
Hey guys I’m looking for for the correct aluminum manifold For my ‘61. I need 27027-55a type 1. I need the one that has the part number cast on top, without reinforcing ribs. I have a 55-57 steel, as well as the later 63-65 aluminum if someone would rather trade. Thanks in advance

Hey Buddha,
yeah I saw that on Epay. Palmers book mentions the 55a type one as being identical to the 55 steel manifold, only cast in aluminum. The 55a type 2 is the only one I’ve ever seen as well. It would be nice if Palmer posted a photo in the book.

I have several aluminum manifolds kicking around here. I'll check to see if one is the early type.

I believe the Aluminum manifold 55A is larger in diameter than the steel one. I have both.

Wasn't the original wanted post from "clinton"? Looking for a 55A manifold?

Re: 58-62 Aluminum O ring manifold
Now you have me wondering the same?
I do know the simple stock manifold bands work the best from my experience as they do not slide inwards.

Re: 58-62 Aluminum O ring manifold
Palmer mentions a 55A type one that is externally identical to the 55-57 cast iron manifold only it’s made of aluminum. The 55A type 2 is the aluminum one with reinforcing ribs and number 27027-55 A on the underside, he states it’s correct for 63-65 Pans. I have never come across a 55A type 1, other than the Gary Bang manifold listed on EBay.
