Hey Guys, I've got a 53 wishbone and a paugho staight leg clone sitting out in the shop, both frames measure identical across the rear axle. The largest tire I could get on was a 140-80 without offsetting the trans. Chain to tire clearence is 3/8 to 1/2, not very much but no problems so far. Ed

Billy,
I know about the humor and I love this site for it.
Had to put the tire back in there, I thought it was 1" plus, but it's actually just under an inch. I already ordered the 140/90(saturday) on your suggestion in another thread, then saw this post, I shoulda known better. Just so many opinions out there, especially all the guys at my local shop yelling at me for tearing down my almost correct 57(frame,speedometeretc...etc...)to turn it into a bobber. Also have a 69 442 convertible #'s matching, I painted it 86 caddy black cherry, gotta be different. Thanks for the help.

George III-
I posted a "Link" to a tire chart, in "Tires"
Check it out & you decide if you think it will fit ??
Because you are doing the measuring on your bike. Check it out.. & COPY IT & SAVE IT... ;D

Avons are a bit FATTER
Dunlops are thinner....

I find info like this out of J&P, & etc.... Good info to save.

George III- Cool toys you have there.. ;D

Hey! Go give the 150 a try as it is your bike and if it works, you win, if not, put the 140 on and give the tire back or sell it on ebay! If you are going through the work and grief to get a bike YOU want, take the time and effort to get it. If it don't work, it don't work!
