The spacer was retained in the housing by two aluminum pins which either get driven in or sheared off during removal, My question is, Should new pins be fabricated and stacked in or would it be better to just tap the spacer to 10-32 and countersink the housing for oval head machine screws?
Has anyone captured the spacer with screws before?
Thanks

Re: Federal siren question
To me the answer depends on whether you are looking for originality or a custom application.

Re: Federal siren question
RUBONE,
Yes, I am looking for originality, But safety also. The original dowels have 4 flutes for a interference fit and i'm not sure how to reproduce them on 5/32" aluminum round stock.
I see Marc Kisielnicki in Germany lists 91152-49 as "Dowel pins to fixate spacer" and the 1954 spare parts manual lists 91152-49 as "Rotor Housing Pin"
Not sure who is correct, The parts book or www.kisielnicki.de
So, Is Part # 91152-49 the pin circled in yellow or the 2 circled in red?
Thanks for any insight,
Mike
