Hi all,
I am making progress on my 58 FL engine. I have the overhauled oil pump mounted, cam chest done and cover installed, tappet blocks installed.
Pistons installed, and rings gap set at .012" Both cylinders installed, and the rear head.
Now.......when the project was in the US, I ordered a set of steel S&S pushrods, but I have since (either there in the US, or while in the move to Germany).....Managed to lose the info sheet that came with the rods.
They are three different lengths of rods, and I set the adjusters as short as possible before measuring them.
2 ea. at 9 7/8" long
1ea. at 10" long
and 1 long one at 10 3/16" long.
Can youall point me in the right locations for these? I looked in the data base and searched S&S and pushrods as key words to search.
Thanks in advance..
George

Re: S&S Steel Pushrods
Hey George, the longest, 10 3/16" goes to the front exhaust, the next longest, 10" goes to the rear exhaust and the other two go to the intakes

Re: S&S Steel Pushrods
Most aftermarket pushrod kits only have one longer pushrod and it goes in the front exhaust. Your next longer one should fit the rear exhaust, and the two short ones go on the intakes.
This is all per design theory, but Like stop signs and speed limits, it is only a suggestion. In the real world none if it is critical on these old tech antique engines. Just install them where they fit best.
