Duo-Glide frame question
I have a 1960 Duo-Glide frame (9K stamp) with a tab and nut located above the oil tank by the left shock mount. It looks like a factory installation. Very similar to what holds the oil tank in place with a rubber isolator on my 77 Electra-Glide. The Palmer book pictures doesn't address this and pictures of Duo-Glides don't show this tab. Any help on this? Thanks, Gary

Re: Duo-Glide frame question
Thanks for the responses! This tab or bracket is only on the left side. I'm going to try to take a pic tomorrow and upload it. An friend said today maybe its something for a police model that has a different oil tank and larger battery? Gary

Re: Duo-Glide frame question
65-84 BT frames (FL/FX) had a similar bracket mounted in approximately the same location as pictured, but my guess is that someone other than the factory installed it to mount a 65-84 FL square oil bag in that frame....bosheff

Re: Duo-Glide frame question
Bosheff, good possibility, I know you ask yourself like I do, why would someone do this? Cou!d this frame tube have been replaced with later piece from a 65 up donor because of an accident? I should just take the back end apart and eliminate the tab. Thanks again, Gary
