Throttle control wire 56377-65 replacement.

This may be a no-brainer to most folks, but I replaced a 64 throttle control coil and wire recently, only to find the throttle action was jumpy and a bit unpredictable afterwards. A closer inspection revealed that the inner wire was thinner than stock, and was flexing inside the control coil causing the problems. Fortunately I only had to replace the new inner wire with an OEM wire to correct the issues. The "bad" new wire was .040, while the OEM is .055 and quite a bit stiffer. So be aware of the quality of replacement parts before you get too far down the road, literally :D .

Is there a part number for the outer coil of the throttle wire?

Yes, in the parts books in the Documentation section. It is generic to all models.
