Clutch
Hi all thinking of putting 3 1/2 plate clutch with spring plate back in my bike instead of 5 plate wondered on what people’s thoughts were on this thanks for any replys

Nigel:
Ran the original 'half plate' style for years and nary a problem even with the studs grooved from wear. Used to think that more grease on the rollers was what your supposed to do but it would start slinging out onto the plates and it would still work but a little rough! I've always had good luck with any big twin clutch new and old, they all work if you understand them.

Why are you thinking about making this change? Personally, I believe the more friction surface you have the less spring pressure you need provided you still have enough separation for a clean disengagement. I like the greenish Kevlar discs. Also, it matters if you are using a foot clutcjh, mouse trap, or an "eliminator" cable operated system. Your question really leaves a lot to be desired......RooDog
