Does this fender look to be Hi-Fi red? Pretty certain its a factory paint, but not sure of year.

Re: Hi-Fi Red?
Thanks guys. I've never seen a hi-fi red in person that i know of. The reason i suggested it was because the red looks to have a coat of silver beneath it. I thought that was the method it was done.

Re: Hi-Fi Red?
The fender is '65 or newer based on the "Electra-Glide" and sometime before '82, Harley started using a 3 part system on some paint jobs. In '82 there was a light or dark metallic, followed by a translucent color coat, and then a clear topcoat. I tried to recreate this on my '82 years ago with genuine factory lacquer that was available then. Perhaps someone knows if the "Sparkling" colors in the late 60's / 70's used the three part system.
Your paint doesn't seem to be that because the under coat isn't metallic and the color is solid not translucent. It may be some year original red, I don't know.

Re: Hi-Fi Red?
In about '77 there was a whole run of limited (not special) solid colors on Electra-Glides, Electra-Glide Sport (FLHS), Superglides, And XLTs. Red, Yellow Green, Blue. Basically solid primary colors. Why??? who knows, just an odd H-D thing.
Re: Hi-Fi Red?
IIRC, there 3 different blue colors in 77, none of which were real inspiring. There was also a dark green and white available.
