1957 & 1959 Fenders

The gray fender '57 was advertised as USA from V-Twin 6 yrs. ago. All the braces are supported by a second plate underneath. OE to me.
The '59 fender is new from Taiwan-V-Twin. Same construction. Nice work. The nut that is tacked looks like a cold weld, but it isn't. Each nut is fastened by two tacked places.

Hi,

I have a 1959 FL PANHEAD and want to repaint the rear fender do I have to remove the rear wheel to remove the fender? If so, are there any other suggestions or tips I would need to know while removing the rear wheel?

Thanks for any advice or help.
