Buddy seat T-bars

#1

Post by 64duo »

There seems to be a large variance in the design of the t-bar for pan buddy seats.
I can't find reference to any of this in Palmers text. So....anyone with insight?
I have one with cast part # 51900-30 , other has cast # 51912-35 ,
and seen some with zirk under, other with zirk over, some without grease fittings.

The bushing size seems to vary also,

Also differs is the cast some lie flatter,

Then there is the cast dog-leg near the bushing mount,

Anyone with good experience here, can clear this up?
Thanks

Jonathan!

Your's uses the one in the foreground in the last picture. The other one with the delicate bend is the common earlier tee.

I know this thread is rather old but for me it is relevant and my question is I have a paco frame and it modified it for a flat head seatpost however I will need to use the big twin t-bar for my buddy seat because I think there are differences in the reach to the front pivot mount and I don't think a flathead t-bar would be long enough to reach past the nose of the seat to connect to it.
Someone came in and let me know if this is correct because I am planning on buying a seatpost T Bar kit from V-Twin and I need to know if the Flathead kit which is 1929 - 1975 would still work if the t bars are indeed the same length.
Thanks in advance

Big Twin and civilian 45 Tee bars interchange. The bottom of the Tee has two positions, one lines up on 45 and the other on BT. The WLA short tee will not work for you.
