58 Panhead, primary breather pipe

#1

Post by 49bones »

Hi all. I am in the process of rebuilding pan bottom end for a pan shovel that i am building. For whatever reason someone has welded up the hole where the crankcase breather pipe should be. I am going to clear the weld and re drill the hole and buy a new breather pipe and try to get it back to stock.

There are two breather pipes, i am familiar with the one that leads up to 1957 pans, but the 58 and up has a different one.

Does the older style fit does anyone know? And even if it does, should i be going for the newer version which is right for the year of my cases? Does anyone know why the newer one is different?

Thanks and happy new year to you all!
