1954 pan with 8fin gear cam cover

Hi everyone - hope you can help me
I'm purchasing a bike from us
its a 54 in a shovel frame with title
the engine spread black and the belly are hard to see from pics and owner not able to make them out if there
Checking history I came across the info that 54's and some 53's have 4 rib /fin cam gear covers
this has eight...
how do I post pic?

48 to 52 pans use eight rib cover, 53 to 64 pans use four rib cover, covers can be changed.

Since it's a pan in a shovel frame, the door is wide open for a mix of many years different parts. Hopefully the selling price reflects that.

Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll admit to being wrong at times,
the 1952 cam cover is a one of a kind.
Sorry not related to initial question, just clarifying the 48 to 52 answer.

Late 52 motors had the 4 rib cam cover. Most 52s have the odd ball cover.

All good answers and summations, the deal will be are you going to be satisfied with your buy. Being its a pan in a swing arm shovel frame, correctness must not be the priority,,,,, shoot if t floats your boat, go for it.
