Is the trip meter knob on a 59 reverse threads ? I cant get it off.

It doesn't come off of a factory 1959 speedo, it is part of the entire assembly.

If you have a stock dash the hole for the tripmeter is a long slot. When the center bolt that holds the dash on is removed the dash just lifts off with a slight tip to the right to clear the tripmeter stem. But without pictures who knows what you might have on there.
