Linkert choke linkage
The choke on my 60 FLHF currently has a L shaped lever on the carb that sticks out from behind the air filter. Looking at my 1960 rider handbook the choke lever shown is under the left tank. Figuring this is correct, to convert to this, my motor mount has no place to attach a lever and linkage. What would the correct mount look like? Gary

Here are so pics of my 58'. I'm pretty sure this is correct as well for your 60'.

I believe your plug wire should be on top of that spring clip and not below it. It sits in that little recess.Gotnoclass wrote:Here are so pics of my 58'. I'm pretty sure this is correct as well for your 60'.

Re: Linkert choke linkage
Gotnoclass, thanks for the response and the pics. I've seen a couple types of top mount for the choke lever and wanted to be sure to seek out the correct one. This style here must be for something else. Examining your detailed pics, your 58 looks to me to be very correct. I'm going to save these pics for future reference. Again, thanks, Gary

Re: Linkert choke linkage
If your lever is at the air cleaner you most likely also have the wrong choke shaft and parts in your carb. Sidevalves used that type.

Re: Linkert choke linkage
Many thanks to everyone who responded here. With a -48 number, it must mean the mount is the same back to 1948. I see that all the Linkert choke parts needed to convert are available as repops except for the mount. Maybe a member here has an extra for sale. Thanks, Gary
