A friend of mine suggested to remove the cam cover, so I did and when I did the camshaft came out little bit. I was not able to push it back inside, and I had to remove it. Now I want put it back in place. How I can do it?
Thanks!
The camshaft is out...

Re: The camshaft is out...
Did you remove the tappets before you opened the cam chest? If not, one or more of the tappets may have fallen down behind a lobe on the cam. This would make it impossible to push it back in place.
The solution is to remove the pushrods, lifters and tappets (remember which one goes where). Then you can put the cam back in place. You will need to make sure all the gears align. Check the service manual for how to do this.

All the tappets are down now, and one came out.
Where I can find the service manual?
Thanks!

If you're gona own a pan and work on it yourself, you have to have a manual... No exeptions.... Try Ebay for starters.

So perhaps you should be asking your clever friend. He got you into this mess.I know, I have manuals for all the cars I have, but I never work on a Harley.
Are all the pushrods out or at least all pressure off of them? If not just valve tension is enough to hold it out of line enough to not slide in! And if it came out enough to drop the thrust washer behind it a full dis-assembly of the cam chest is in order.
