Re: Gear Timing Marks
To make things EXTREMELY simple. When the pinion gear is aligned with the cam and breather, disregard everything else. Just make them line up! Then bring the timing mark into the hole and set the timing to the FRONT cylinder on compression relative to the mark. It is impossible to get it wrong. Don't try to overthink this, it is REALLY basic!

Re: Gear Timing Marks
Rubone,
Thanks,
I'm trying to eliminate any possibilities. I installed solid lifter conversion lifters a week ago (before I started, the motor ran) and since I've put it back together, It will not start. I mean nothing. Not a pop or backfire or whistle or whatever! I've checked everything multiple times: timing, spark, fuel, push rod adjustment, put the old hydraulics back in.. Now I'm thinking that some how, I moved the cam timing. Trying to cover everything.
