After taking the gearcase apart, after I had all the gears out.
I notice up in top just to the right of the cam, someone had etched a "" swastika" into the case, interesting.

Sounds like someones attempt to identify their stuff in case of theft. Over the years I have seen lots of personalization, primarily with names or numbers, not often symbols. Especially not silly ones.

did seem kinds strange why someone would do that.
Makes you wonder the history of this bike and who owned it early on
