49 Right side case

#1

Post by panman54 »

Good evening. Can anyone tell me what the physical difference is from a 49 right side case compared to a 47 right side case. In other words, can I use my 49 to build a Knucklehead motor? Did a lot of research but can't find a solid answer. Thanks, Jim

Only if your crazy.
Rocker arm ratios differ, cams differ, knuckle has external oil feed to head, pan (most) is internal.
It has been done before but I don't recommend it.
Reproduction knuckle engines are on Ebay if you want one.

Short answer is no.
Long version is that anything is possible with enough money and perseverance.
