Hi does polishing Panhead cases lessen the value of the bike. ?

Yes. Original is the best way to retain value. But it's your bike and if it's not close to original already it probably won't affect value much. Do what makes you happy.

IMHO, building a bike to suit the tastes of the future owner is pointless.
Want a sure way to safeguard your investment? Put the money bank in your pocket.

Build the bike how you want it, but find a set of cases that are already polished and sell your original finish cases. You'd actually end up with some extra cash in your pocket and not be destroying history. just my opinion.
