Tips on the OE-style oil lines

Description: Tips on the OE-style Oil Lines

The seal is between the ground margin on the flared nipple of the oil tank and the smooth i.d. of the flare on the oil line (OE style lines). The cap holds this seal in place. The threads of the nipple and flared cap are not meant to seal, so teflon tape or PST sealant is not used.
Never use 3/8's copper tube for an oil line (the return-to-filter line from an S&S pump to the OE fillter). It wil fracture. Soft copper tube becomes rigid later on.
If you want the deluxe bender for 3/8's tube, it's the Ridgid #406. It bends a 2" radius in steel tube w/o kinking the tube or gouging the o.d. of the flare end.
