oil change

If I put only 800 miles on my Pan this summer do I need to change the oil filter along with the oil, or do you think I can let it go for another year?

Hi 48Panlover

Change that filter. I assume you are using one of the external canister types that were an option for your year. If so I would use the paper element type as opposed to the stock fiber ones. The paper element type, though not as good as a modern filters, are-much better than the old "horsehair" variety. You can get them at J&P for about $5 a copy.
