How do I get the pump off my 51 FL? Do I take it off all in one piece or do I have to take the cover and plate off then the gears and shaft then the body?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Oil pump
Time for a better manual.....
Unscrew all the nuts, pull the outter cover, gears, and keys, remove body.

Re: Oil pump
If the cam cover is off you can remove the drive gear and remove it mostly intact. The outer cover needs to come off regardless. If the cam cover is on you can remove it by taking the outer snap ring off, the outer gears, then the body. But if you push the shaft in and drop the inner woodruff key you will be pulling the cam cover anyway...

Re: Oil pump
Miles, there's a separation between the supply gears and the return gears, the driven shaft has key slots within the drive gears where a small key sits. If you try to pull the pump without removing the outer gears the key will gouge the seal between the supply and return, ruining the pump. Take your time!...Mike
