I need to replace the rubber hose that feeds oil to the primary
the only hose I can find has a I.D. of 5/32 which fits the primary oil fitting and the pump fitting, however it not as thicked walled as the hose that was on there, not by much
it says the the hose is washer/ vacuum line, I 'm worried that the line will sag with hot oil in it
do you think it will be fine?
I tried a regular oil line with a 1/4 I.D it also fits but wont allow a screw type hose clamp on there it interfers with the inner fitting flush against the case
primarl hose

Re: primarl hose
Factory replacement hose is vacuum line. We used to buy it by the roll. The amount of oil going through it is so small and the area of the line so large there is no way it can ever be a problem. Many problems are caused by owners trying to over think things and changing stuff that need not be changed.

Re: primarl hose
ok thanks
not really over thinking it, just wanted get and opinion.
didn't want to try something others had done before and wouldn't work
If it was in and area that was easy to get too if it did fail I just would have tried it
better safe than sorry

65eglide!
If you cannot find the right pinch clamp, then its baleing wire time.
....Cotten
PS: Don't forget the old trick of punching the fitting out of the primary, fastening the hose, and then fishing it back in with the rest of the baleing wire.

Re: primarl hose
I've had no problems using "the right tool that doesn't work" to crimp the clamps on oil lines.

funny... I was just wondering why the end of the fitting inside the primary is all banged up
someone must have did that before......
