drilling oil returns in 51 cylinders
I have drilled my 51 cylinders for return oil to enter into the cylinder bore as suggested in the manual but I'am not sure if i need to block off the oil return passages in the case or how i would do that safely. sorry for any weirdness this is my first post.

shovel base gaskets, you have to put the supply hole in, but this way you will not have to block off the case return holes

58shroom!
I can't seem to find the instructions; Can you tell me which Service Manual and page?
Or was it a Service Shot?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks again, 58shroom!
I really wonder what re-locating the oil drain has to do with an improved oil ring. Plenty of early motors run long and well without the hole, and with even more modern and efficient oil control rings.
Dumping excessive oil to only one side of the piston skirt isn't a great idea in itself, when you consider hydraulic forces, and particulates that may come out of the head.

But it was cheaper than doing the machine operations on the cases for the earlier system------
