Not sure what can be determined from the pics, but I am looking for comments on these heads...I am new to this panhead stuff so your experience is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Looks like the rear head has a couple cracks by the spark plug, They still have the bronze seats so they may be worthy of the Headhog seat repair, Don adds more bronze to the existing material then does the valve job. What year heads are they, 64 or 65? I'm curious about the intakes, did someone do a little porting?...Mike

In addition to Mike's suggestions I would consider replacing the exhaust spigots and repairing the broken fins.

G'day,

The rocker box screws look way oversized
Should be 3/16 UNC

I would checking that very very carefully above the intake port.

I've been listening Cotten !

Good eye Pete. I think you're right... those rocker cover holes look like they are drilled to 1/4".

not only do the rocker cover holes look oversize to me, but my ol' eyes don't even see any threads in them.

The guides look OEM, with no oversize rings, but internally knurled.
It is quite possible that there is plenty of life left in the seats.

Note how the rear head which has cracks at the plug also is the one with a damaged intake lip.
Only a very high pressure test will tell if a repair is necessary, or if the entire plug insert must be removed to repair it.
It is even possible that the crack extends under the intake seat, which would be sad indeed.
