65 Pan-Shovel
I just purchased most of a 65, the engine was modified with Shovelheads long ago, I want to return it to the way it belongs, Panheads. I have been told that this was a bolt on change but did the cylinders have to be changed, are these Shovelhead cylinders? The front cylinder has the fins cut away to clear the point housing but I don't know if this was a modification as well. Did the cylinders have to be changed when the heads were installed? Thanks.

Re: 65 Pan-Shovel
FlatsideShovel!
Yes, Shovel heads require Shovel cylinders, and vice-versa.
I wish you Good Luck finding an affordable set of outside-oiler heads, and the unique cylinders that "correct"-ly go with them. It will take patience as well.
...Cotten
(PS: The term "pan-shovel" is quite confusing, as it implies you have one of each!)
