cylinder gasket surfaces

Post by fourthgear »

My 65 ,cylinders, head & base gasket surfaces have slight pitting on them , I read here that some one put there's on a lathe and turned them down , is that the method to clean them up ?( I 'm no machinist , out of my league ) They don't need much ,but more than a cleaning will take care of . I like clean, true gasket surfaces and we all know they can make or break a good seal .

They are going to be milled , just enough to clean them up . Since they are not that bad and they are OEM cyl.
