pushrod seals

#1

Post by el rojo »

When I replaced my old pushrod tubes with new ones, the set came with rubber O rings unlike the cork ones I had. I can't seem to get them all to seal especially the front head exhaust tube. After only riding a mile or so there is oil running
down the side of the case. Anyone else have problems with rubber O rings not sealing?

You will probably get the same reply from many others. Cork is best.

Are you talking an O ring like an O ring? If you are you will need O ring push rod tubes to run them....They came on late 70s Shovels... I have them in my Pan just because. Find some cork tube seals....That should fix it.....

ELROHO----Stay AWAY from anything black or blue rubber types!.--CORK IS BEST ,as was stated earlier. There best because even if you have a small-divit in a tube-Cork will form to it & NEVER LEAK!---Respectfully---Richie

Yep cork is best. But with the O ring type push rod tubes will cut right through cork seals. Yep find some cork....
