1960 Duoglide
I've had this bike in shed storage for the past 22 years and realize I will never restore it; it is time to pass it on to someone who will. I just don't know how to come up with a fair price so I've come here for advice.
Would NADA be a good guide? I put the bike somewhere between Fair and Poor. It was running but bent a pushrod and I parked it. Mostly stock but missing a few parts (wind screen and horn, tank emblems...). I am not the original owner, I bought it used back around 1980 but I have the proper Registration which matches the VIN on the bike.
NADA PRICING
Excellent: $22,950
Very Good: $14,125
Good: $9,600
Fair: $7,575
Poor: $6,000
Fair A motorcycle that is worthy core for restoration. This would exclude machines with major frame and engine modifications that would be cost prohibitive to return to original specifications. All mechanical and cosmetic aspects of the machine will need attention in the restoration process. This is a complete motorcycle with most if not all of its body, engine and suspension components intact, albeit in poor condition.
*Motorcycles with missing engines or major components are commonly referred to as "parts bikes" and are not covered in this category.
Poor A Used for Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles only. A poor condition motorcycle has been used and abused and needs major mechanical and/or sheet metal work. It may or may not run. Alterations are evident to frame or sheet metal. Motorcycle is missing or has incorrect parts, i.e. fenders, tank, seat, mechanics, installed. To some individuals this is a "project or parts bike" at best. A #5 motorcycle is one best left to the professional for restoration.

dingrr,
Where is the bike located? Can it be shipped? Would you take offers on it?
Thanks, Tony.

Robert,
I knew the tanks were wrong but other than that I just don't know. I should add a photo of the saddlebags.
Tony,
I'm researching for a realistic current value before I actually place it up for sale. You certainly can throw some numbers at me. The bike is in Eden, New York.

Re: 1960 Duoglide
I was busy all week and through the weekend! Anyway, I think I'll be asking $6,000, since it hasn't run in many years and as Bob was so kind to point out, some of the parts are not original or the proper year. It is definitely a project bike. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I want to get some better pictures and then I'll be listing it here first.
Tony and Tim, give me a call if you're interested.

I don;t want to spoil anybody;s fun, but if the engine is not seized up(and maybe even if it is) I think it is worth more than 6K.

Re: 1960 Duoglide
Ya got some really funky lookin #'s on that left side case. A trained eye will spot them in a heartbeat. Not only does the 3rd rate tatoo give it away, but the boss itself looks like it has been had at with a rat tail file(sunken in the middle). The 1964 belly #'s can easily be explained away as being over the counter service cases. At any rate, this would be a risky deal at any price....bosheff

Re: 1960 Duoglide
Well, this is disheartening to say the least. I spent several hours educating myself on the internet last night and didn't sleep well. Looks like I got duped many years ago.
I've removed my add from the classifieds and will be talking to the local LEO.
Thanks for all your help! (I think)
