I just got off the phone with the moco i called to get some info in my pan. i found out she was born feb. 15 1962 as a flhf model. thats all they could tell me. the f after the flh indicates foot shift right?. i was hoping to find out what dealer it went to, color etc but they dont have those records anymore i guess. well its a little more info than i had before on my old girl if anyone has any resources on getting info id appreciate it. keep er pointed in the wind! Yup. The last F means foot shift. You won't see it on the VIN, but likely on the old order forms.

Well if your 62 FL 6562 was Dec 06, 61 then my 62 FL 2897 must have been maybe late Sept, early Oct.UPSROD wrote:My old 62 FLF was December 6,1961. It was # 6562.

Tahoe Joe,what's the phone number and how do you go about finding out the info on a bike?
Be aware that no records exist prior to about late '61 or so and up. And those are incomplete. No info at all for pre '60s models!

The number is 1-414-343-4056 just give them the vin and they will look it up. but like robbie said there is no records left from late 61 and earlier and very limited for 62 and up untill later years.

Re: found out my pans birthday
Well mine was the 897th off the line so it had to be pretty early. I called the MoCo but they didn't have any info on it or my 45 or my knuckle, but they gave me all the goods on my shovel.UPSROD wrote:Maybe later, if they made 500-600 a month on average???cdndewey wrote:Well if your 62 FL 6562 was Dec 06, 61 then my 62 FL 2897 must have been maybe late Sept, early Oct.UPSROD wrote:My old 62 FLF was December 6,1961. Re: found out my pans birthday
Dewey, I was thinking more of the difference between our numbers and not how low yours was. My 65 was built
on Aug. 11 of 1964. It is the 655th. So your early Sept. guess is probably very close.
