Repairing scratches on fork tube

#1

Post by Mr Mach1 »

I've got some scratches on my fork tubes. I assume they are chrome plated. I thought I could lightly sand them with fine emery cloth in a radial motion and polish the area on the buffer.

Thanks
Leon

I'm not worried about appearance ( yes, I'm running the cow bells), I'm concerned about the scratches affecting the seals and making leaks.

Do the tubes even protrude into the lower legs where the scratches are? Tubes are the same from 49-77 I believe....bosheff
