58, Adjustable tree part numbers

#1

Post by maxx »

Does anybody have the casting and part numbers for the top triple tree, on an adjustable front end, that would have been on a 1958 pan?
Thanks

maxx,
The 1958-1968 factory parts book lists:
Part # 56129-50 FORK BRACKET, handlebar (adjustable fork) 50 to 59 - FL, FLH

If your top tree has the riser holes for individual risers, it's is the right one. BTW, back off the
damper fully before riding the bike, Dou-Glides and fork dampers don't mix well.

Thanks for the replies. The top triple tree that I have has the casting # of 56128-60 and has the closer spaced holes for the newer style handlebar with the dampeners.
I guess that the search is on for the 56129-50 top tree. Probably not a lot of those floating around, maybe one will jump out at me this fall in Davenport. If anybody know of one let me know wlotz (at) galesburg.net. My parts manual, for some reason, does not list the part number for the top tree; everything else, just not the top adjustable tree.

Does anybody make a repo of the top tree? I know they make the 60 and up one, but do the do the earlier one?

V-Twin may make one, have a look in their catalog/website. Can you just use solid trees?

I will double check v-twin, but all I have seen so far are the 60 and up, for the rubber bushing at 3.5". I have the no-adjustable but would like to use the adjustable. I will be moving my 58 hack from a 67 to the 58 after I work a few thing out.
