new springer-maybe

I'm wanting to put a Paughco spinger front end on my bike but they
say it won't run with a star hub. Has anyone done similar or know what
modifications need to be done to get this to work?
Thanks

Paughco Springer...maybe!

Did THEY say why it wouldn't run with a starhub....and by star hub I'm assuming you mean Knuck/Pan star hub not the shovelhead star flange, right?

The axle dia of the Paughco is 3/4" so a mod should not be that big of a deal although I can say that the stock axle will NOT extend far enough through the hub to run through the lower springer axle hole....even if you machine down the longer right axle side.....so I'd say just make another axle with the stock tapers but make the left axle side longer to extend into the springer's left axle hole....I really cannot see any big deal here. Hope that helps...I have a Paughco springer so if you need measurements, pm me.

I Can't seem to find the pm to get in touch. I talked to paughco today and they said their springer uses a 3/4 axle where the star hub uses 5/8.
Anothe question for you, are you running a mechanical front brake?
And yes I could definitly use those deminsions.
Thanks again.

Paughco Springer...maybe!

Eric...Sorry, been away.

Look, Paughco makes TWO Springer rockers...one for a 3/4" axle and the other for a 5/8" axle...So you can run either wheel type you want...just make sure you buy the Rocker axle size to fit your application!
