upper fork bracket

#1

Post by es225 »

How could I see the difference between a 48-57 upper front fork bracket (pt nr 56121-48) and a 58-59 bracket (pt nr 56121-58)? I know the difference between the corresponding lower brackets, but not the difference between the upper brackets....
Thanks!

It is the same casting # but machined differently to match up to the relocated lower stem. The surface that the stem goes through is machined top and bottom at an angle so the bracket sits square with the cone seat on the bottom and the stem nut on the top.

Thanks! Can the old part be machined to fit the later lower bracket? And to what angle - how many degrees?

mmmmm, these ebay brackets are both listed as 49-59 upper brackets, suggesting that there is no difference between 49-57 and 58-59 .....??...!!....

EVERYONE list them as 49-59 because of the riser spacing...they would all be the same part number if they were all the same. The pictures show the differences.

Correct for 60-84.....NOT for a 58.
