glide fun

Mocking up my front end, Always an adventure!! full of discovery, I got my tubes from throttle masters, some old stock superior stock length, threads were great, fit together nice!! I didnt have the correct 49 to 59 timkens, because the new old cups were earlys, and my timkens were -60's. 2 things, I dont have the springs yet, so i'm trying to guesstimate the installed height, can someone please give me the length of the fork from under the top tree to the center of the axle, so I can check for ground clearence. or give me the ground clearence with the bike upright , with the springs compressed under the weight of the bike, that should tell me where I need to be. The slider covers are take offs from a newer HD dresser, they measure about 6 1/2 inch. are the early pans the same length? I'll post some pics tomorrow, Thanks in advance, Adam
