Hey guys,
i'm replacing the fork tubes on my 63 and i've run across someones handywork. the fork tube plugs (11) have been messed with
and i can't make out the details of it in the manual, so i thought i'd post some pics to get a little help with it.
they also added a 1-1/4" long spacer to put some preload on the springs, which i think would explain most of my clunk over
speed bumps.
there's 2+1 cup like things on the one, and 6+1 on the other...???
what's the deal?
Thanks, Blaine...

Re: Fork tube plug question
G'day Blain
The 6 + 1 is the real deal. The spacers maybe someones idea of stiffening up the springs a bit or
also make sure the springs are the right length, might have been out of some other model.
the other one is fixable.
Think about replacing the small valves in the very top caps, it makes a difference when it all is working right.
still available from the MoCo. (Breather Valve.. 45757-49)
