Post by ciciomero »

Hi guys,
sorry for my bad inglish  .
I'm in the forum for a wile. I write very little but I read very mutch.
I've two quick questions for you:

What do you think about Mallory All electronic ignition distributor? (I bought it)
What kind of sparks do you use with it? (inside there is an accell 35496 how you know)

I hope to resolve my trouble of pinging on head.

Thank you and good road at all!

I use a 3 ohm coil ,( you can get away with a point type coil, used one for about a year with no problem ) you want electronic ign. plug wires ( a must or you could damage your ign.) & the plugs you are using are fine ,I'm using Champion RJ12YC plugs with my Mallory . The coil Ohm reading will surpposedly get you better performance ,starting ect..

Hope thats what your asking .Nice Bike!

i use a Vulcan single fire distributor in my pan,,so I run a dual dyna coil set up..I do use a spark plug wire designed for an electronic ignition and run NGK plugs designed for a CDI system. Plugs fors points & condenser are not good for an electronic ignition,,,,people will argue it doesn't matter but I've never had an ignition go bad..It also doesn't cost more money,I run all plugs for year and change out every spring.

Pinging or spark knock could be from to much advance on timing.
