Manual advance distributor pictures

My 1957 panhead has a spring on the distributor to hold it advanced. I have just replaced the handlebars with an original style set that has the spark advance handgrip. How do I connect it to the distributor? Any pictures would sure help.

here's a pic of a '59 timer cable and control coil brackets. Make sure the rollers in the slot of the handlebar roll easily back in forth in the slot, that you grease the cable within the coil and that the angle of the coil and cable is set for minimum friction where it connects by the clamp to the bracket, or you'll find that you'll need to move the timer by hand to help it retard and advance.

Thanks for the pictures. That helps a lot. How does the cable route from the handlebars down to the distributor?

How does the cable route from the handlebars down to the distributor?
The coil (cable housing) leaves the handlebar and goes through the wide plastic cable cover, and through the top slot in the (tree) plate, then goes in front of the steering neck and to the right side of the machine, then goes under the steering head area, over the right down tube and gets clamped (exterior on the frame tab) at the upper left downtube, under a half-round clip.
All of the turns the coil makes starts loading up the control wire/coil with more friction, so bottom-line, the angle at the veryend of the control coil should be fixed in a direct harmonious position, relating to the exact-angle of that locking wire hole at the end of the (32593-47) c.b. adjusting screw. That's why I suggested arcing the cable with a screwdriver, if necessary, to match angles and reduce friction.
IMO, the forward and backward un-restricted, free-rolling, sprial rollers (two) and the straight, smooth side walls of the handlebar slots are paramount to a smooth operating control wire, further on down the road.
