Spark plug wire question

Post by Scrap »

57 FL: which Is the correct route from the coil to the plugs. Left side of coil to which cylinder? I can't find a good picture of the wires. Drop down to the plugs, drop down from the plugs? A photo would be appreciated.

scrap,
it really doesn't matter which coil terminal goes to which plug, they are "wasted spark" ignition systems, both plugs fire at the same time, every time. Common practice is to connect the forward coil terminal to the rear plug using the short cable. Routing is up and over the frame web and drop down to the plugs.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was curious what was correct. I was doing it the opposite, just an arbitrary decision. When you say common practice, is that the way they were wired from the factory? Not a restoration but I looked in Palmers and elsewhere but have never seen a clear shot.

Page 369 clear photo, front coil wire to rear cylinder.
There is a wire clip under the choke rod.
